Olivia Lane is a proud first generation Métis graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from Thompson Rivers University. She is very passionate about ending the stigma surrounding mental health and strives to make an inclusive environment through EDI practices and the pursuit of decolonization in her academic and professional settings.

While on campus, Olivia volunteered as a Student Wellness Ambassador, Indigenous Mentor, member of the MotionBallU Executive Committee, and facilitated EDI workshops. Off of campus, she could be found as a Support Worker for the Canucks Autism Network.

With the Undergraduate Research Experience Award Program, Olivia researched perceptions of racial bias among international students and faculty in a post-secondary context. She has also published research about incarcerated Indigenous Peoples and Restorative Justice in the award-winning Knowledge Makers journal and presented a paper on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls at TRU’s Philosophy, History and Politics Conference.
