Racial Bias in a Post Secondary Context

Welcome to my personal website to disseminate my research conducted through the Undergraduate Research Experience Award Program (UREAP) at Thompson Rivers University (TRU).

My research is focused on racial biases in a post-secondary context, specifically  international students’ and Faculty’s perception of racial biases in the classroom. My project used survey methods and thematic analysis to inform TRU on how to better serve their diverse study body.

I was inspired to pursue this topic due to the experiences of racism expressed not only by my friends who are international students, but also from other international students while I was a student mentor across campus.

Expressing Gratitude

I would like to acknowledge that my research was conducted at Thompson Rivers University on the traditional and unceded territories of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc within Secwepemcúl’ecw.

I would also like to express immense gratitude and thanks to my research supervisors, Dr. Jenny Shaw and Dr. Serena George. Without their continuous support this project would not have been possible.
